>Don't use tape at all! In our school we used colorful bandanas that stood out in contrast to our all black attire.

>My first year out of high school while I was at work, I wasn't sure what they would say about me being silent. So what I did was print out a rainbow pride ribbon off the computer and taped it to my shirt. I still stayed silent but when I was asked, I had to say it was the Day of Silence (as they'd never really heard of it much). That or I had my mom speak it or I tried signing it because a couple of co-workers are deaf that I worked with and I know a few signs (as well as they know how to read lips).

>Our GSA actually discourages covering mouths. We had some issues last year with students getting in trouble for using surgical masks. We don't want to make enemies with the administration. But we also have the advantage of having tshirts and a couple posters.

>What I've done for the past couple years is black eyeliner and Sharpie(make sure your Sharpie is non-toxic). I just draw an X across my mouth. It's very visually striking, and many people thought it was tape. Eyeliner directly on the lips(doesn't require nearly as much upkeep as lipstick) and Sharpie past the lips.

>In the first place why do you have to put a duct tape to your mouth? Just want to hut yourself?

>I'm using masking tape over my mouth and using my markers to make a rainbow on it for the full affect. Since my school has very little rally for this I want to set an example
