>Thank you for the speech. The message is powerful because it comes from a man of great privilege and power. The message of respect and empathy is one that, when shared, works. Agreed adults need to hear the message that a caring adult can make a world of difference and come on people....we are all so important and have unique talents so - lets focus on what we have in common and start to focus on picking up the slack we all have the job of - social responsibility to make this place, our cities, the world better.

>I will be the first to admit that I know nothing about politics nor of Obama's administration, but after watching this video, I have a new found respect and admiration toward him. It takes a lot of guts for someone in a political power openly come out and say that they are in support of the LGBT community.

>This is a good thing. It's important this message is discussed, shared and passed along. It's an effective message because it's coming from a man in a position of power and privilege. As adults we need to knowledge our social responsibility of respect and empathy. I agree, we all need to honour our unique talents and be ourselves. Jump and Wave....I like it

>Being pretty old, I remember when there was no chance in hell that we'd have a Black president. I cannot believe he is commenting on the bullying against gay kids--I am so glad that he has done so. Unfortunately, Congress (the people who make laws) may not be so courageous, and may not craft any kind of legislation for him to approve. Congress has abandoned this guy...very much like society has allowed our kids to be bullied, tormented, and tortured. We do need our Congress to support President Obama's lead and craft legislation to specifically protect gay youth...Maria, 40+, sister of a fabulous gay man

>Wow! I didn't think I'd ever lose it in front of my students...tears of consolation and validation that I couldn't hold back after years of stuffing my frustration, anger, self-doubt,and sadness behind an exterior of pride and self-control. The president's speech brought me to an awareness of "history in the making". Never, in my wildest dreams did I ever conceive of receiving validation and appreciation from the President of the United States (No less), before receiving it from my own family...I'm stunned, moved and grateful...and hopeful that the change we still need is still on the burner and simmerin' away...
Martin Brown
Tucson, Az

>How dare the president of our country quote that as an LGBT community we need to pursue happiness when our president does not believe in gay marriage. When he only believe in civil unions and he allows this bullying to go on in schools and in the work place. Why not end it all Mr.President? How dare you allow people to protest your wonderful dead soldiers? Where is your duty in protecting all of everyones rights?

>I don't like President Obama, and I am conservative. I do appreciate his message though, and he needs to do a better job at president though.
