>GLSEN Chapter Member Mary Susman Recieves LGBT Journalism Scholarship

>GLSEN would like to congratulate Mary Susman for being this year’s recipient of the Leroy F. Aarons Scholarship, an award given to LGBT students who plan to pursue a career in journalism and are committed to the National Lesbian & Gay Journalists Association’s mission of fair and accurate coverage of the LGBT community.

Last night Mary and her mom attended Headlines & Headliners: NLGJA’s 15th Annual New York Benefit along with notable faces in the media, including the hosts of the event, “TODAY” show co-anchors, Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb.

Mary is an active member of our Omaha chapter and will be studying journalism and sociology this fall.
