>I don't understand how silence does anything to advocate tolerance. I don't get the point. There are much more effective ways of protest.

>I wish my school could do something like that. I participated today and it was really cool since none of my teachers expected me to talk. Sure I had notecards for: yes, no, thanks, can i go to the restroom, and: how do you ________. Sadly at my bff's school she couldn't participate hardly at all. Her teachers constantly harass her to talk normally since she's really quiet and apparently they weren't smart enough to realize what to day is.

>We did this at Lee's Summit <br />North, MO, with GSA and the diversity club. It's been so much fun this entire week getting to talk with kids about the week and why they should do the day of silence. This is my 4th Day of Silence but my first year to have the school behind me. :)

>My school is having a diversity week. Unfortunately for some reason (likely so fail planning and communication) we couldn't get approval for this week, so we're having it next week with our own DoS next friday
