Two Days Left to Apply for GLSEN Safe Schools Advocacy Summit in DC

This is an opportunity alert students and non-students!

Have you ever considered becoming more involved in advocacy but lack the knowledge or experience to enter into the legislative arena? Are you already a pro looking to use your skills for good? Whatever your level of experience, GLSEN is providing you the opportunity to effect change with their Safe Schools Advocacy Summit in Washington D.C. March 20-23, 2010.

The Safe Schools Advocacy Summit brings high school students and adult activists together for a series of workshops and discussions where participants develop an understanding of the legislative process and ways they can influence it, as they acquire the tools and skills for effective school- and community-based organizing.

On the final day of the summit, participants will head to Capitol Hill and meet with legislators to discuss policies and legislation that will help protect all students from bullying and harassment.

And that isn't even the best part. Not only do you acquire an invaluable amount of knowledge but the cost to you is zero. That's right, all expenses for the Safe Schools Advocacy Summit will be paid for by GLSEN.

So go ahead, click here to apply!
